Australian Beach Family Portraits in Palm Cove

This young Canadian family have been living in Cairns for 4 years while Dad went to dental school at JCU. Now that school has finished and it's time to go home, Mum wanted some memories of their daily life living at the Cairns Beaches.

We headed to Palm Cove, a place the family spent many days and weekends, lapping up the warm, tropical weather.

This session is a hybrid of lifestyle, documentary and portraits, due to the young age of the children, it involves a lot of moving around the environment, exploring and capturing them doing the every day things they do, along with a few face forward portraits. The children really guide the session and it's about making it as enjoyable as possible for them. It can take a while for little ones to warm up to the camera, most of the best images are from the middle to end of the session once they relax and get a feel for what's happening.
